The pilot
How Kerandy uses BraidDeck
BraidDeck is being piloted with Kerandy Hair Braiding & Beauty Supply in Greeley, Colorado. This is what that pilot looks like — and, just as plainly, what it has not yet shown.
Who is involved
I’m Kevin, the developer behind BraidDeck. My mother owns Kerandy Hair Braiding & Beauty Supply in Greeley, Colorado, and I help improve the systems behind the business. I am not a braider, and the business is hers.
The booking problem
Kerandy’s prices are a table, not a list. For her size-and-length styles, the size and the length chosen together decide the price — small and long costs more than the two steps added — and smaller braids take hours longer.
A booking system that gives each service one fixed length has to guess. Guess long and a quick style blocks out half a day; guess short and a small, waist-length install gets booked into a gap it cannot fit.
What BraidDeck does for her
- Her real catalogue. 28 styles were read from the booking page on her own website in September 2026 and loaded for her, rather than typed in again.
- Her real prices. Five size-by-length styles carry her full price table, and every combination matches the price she already publishes. Her table did not add up the way BraidDeck first assumed, so BraidDeck was changed to price combinations as pairs rather than approximate her.
- Times that fit. A client’s choices set the length of the appointment, and only start times where it fits her hours are offered — at least 12 hours ahead, up to 90 days out.
- A deposit to book. $20, paid into her own Stripe account.
- Her own address. kerandy.braiddeck.com, with her logo.

What has been built, and what has been measured
Built and working
Everything described above, on her live page: her catalogue and price table, times that fit, deposits to her own Stripe account, and the confirmation and reminder emails that follow a booking.
Not measured yet
Booking volume, time saved, revenue, fewer no-shows — none of it. The pilot is too young for numbers to mean anything, so this page does not publish any.
When there is something worth measuring, it will be reported here — including if it is not flattering.
