BraidDeck

Text messages

BraidDeck can text a braider when someone books. This is what that means, what she agrees to, and how she stops it.

Only the braider, only about her own bookings

The one person BraidDeck ever texts is the braider whose account it is, on the mobile number she typed in herself. Her clients are never texted — they get email, and nothing in the product can send a text to anyone but the account holder.

  • When someone books — one message telling her who booked, what they booked and when, once the deposit has cleared.
  • When a client moves their own appointment — one message saying what moved and where it went.

That is the whole list. No marketing, no promotions, no reminders to buy anything, and nothing from anybody else.

How she agrees, and what she is shown

It is off until she turns it on. The number on her profile is the one her clients are given, and typing it in for them is not the same as asking to be texted on it — so nothing is sent until she signs in, opens her own Profile page and ticks the box.

This is that control, as it actually appears, with the words she reads beside it:

The BraidDeck Profile page. A phone number field reading (970) 555-0123, then a ticked checkbox labelled “Text me when someone books”, and beneath it: “One text per booking, from BraidDeck, about your own appointments — never marketing. Reply STOP to any of them to turn this off, or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.”
Dashboard → Profile. The number shown is a reserved example number, not anybody’s.

No number is ever taken from anywhere else. Not from a client, not from a list, not from an import — only from the account holder typing her own.

How often, and how to stop

  • Frequency: one message per booking. For a working braider that is single digits a day.
  • Reply STOP to any message and they end immediately. Reply HELP for help. Unticking the box on her Profile does exactly the same thing.
  • Message and data rates may apply — that is between her and her own mobile network. BraidDeck charges nothing for a text.
  • Mobile numbers are not shared with third parties. Not sold, not rented, not passed on. The only company that receives one is our carrier, in order to deliver the message.

Turning texts off changes nothing else: the same information is in the email that goes out with it, so she is never left not knowing about a booking.
